1st Caching Ride

Postby THG on Sat Mar 06, 2010 11:14 pm

It was nice enough to get out on the motorcycle today for a cache. A new one popped up last night 32 miles away about half way to the Colorado Border on state Highway 430. My first real ride of the year - of the decade other than going to work one day this week with it. It does not take long to get out of the city past Aspen Mountain to a BookCliff like remote area along side the road heading south.

Today also was the first "real" ride for my son Ethan around the neighborhood blocks instead of last year just going up and down the street and around the driveway. He did not want to get off. He needs a "real" helmet though (not his pedal bike one) to go longer - busier city street ride.

Yesterday, my grand-daughter and I were out on the side of the house chipping ice in the gutter so we could get some water moving to the storm sewer. We got it cleaned out and drained out so that got me to thinking that with a little work, I could probably get my Harley out. It was a very nice day yesterday and it gave me the bug to ride even worse than I had it before. So today while Peggy was at church, I chipped ice until I thought I could get the bike out. Sure enough, I was able to get the bike out so I started it and off I went. Initially I was just going to go around the block since I had no coat nor gloves on but it felt so good, I ended up taking about a 2 mile loop and back home. My hands were aching by the time I got home but since I needed gas, I put on my jacket and gloves and headed off to get gas. On the way home, I took a little 9 mile ride and Peggy was getting home when I got home. We decided to take the bike to Sinclair (6 miles away) for lunch. It was a nice day and now I feel much better about things. I hear we are having some weather coming in but I'll be ready to get out on the bike the next opportunity I have. Come on Summer!
Anything can be fixed using Duct tape or WD40...
If it moves & it shouldn't, use the Duct tape
If it doesn't move and it should, use the the WD40

Some people say I suffer from ADD but I.... oh look, a bunny!

A man has to believe in something. I believe I'll have another beer!
