Discussions about those caches that come up missing!

2 for 2

Not been a good week for us with caches. Two of our most popular have come up missing. We had to replace our Orin Junction TB Motel. Have never had a problem with that cache since we placed it...high traffic, lots of muggles, never a problem until now. Had two logs that the cache was gone, checked on it this evening and sure enough...no sign of it. I set out a new container with a new logbook. Cache is empty other than that. Will have to pick up some new travelers and restock it. Of course you all know how I hate to lose those log books. 163 smileys we had at that cache...that stinks to lose that one.
Now the cache at A Tall Drink of Water (the redwood water tower in Lusk) is missing. Have had two cachers report that they couldn't find it. Will check on it in the morning. We adopted this cache and replaced everything (container, contents, logbook) about a year and a half ago. We may have to update coords at this one and find a new hidey hole. New coords means a new find for all of you too.... :D I never really liked the "old" spot as it was a "snake haven"!! Thanks CDB and Squaw, for letting us know about this latest development. Great to see you too!

It was great to see all three of you guys again!! It had been quite a while, just hate to have been the bearer of bad news about the cache. I hate it when people just have to run off with something that isn't theirs. Hopefully we can get together again sometime as we seem to have the uncanny ability to miss one another!!! I think you will get to see Marcia some at the trainings and other get-togethers Head Start has. We missed several in Lusk because there were several placed since I did my last pocket querey in April! Oh well, it gives us a reason to come back!!!!! :D :D :D

I am not replacing the Redwood Water Tower cache right away. I heard they are taking bids to have the water tower painted...when I checked on the cache Monday it looked as it someone had been out there and had "cleaned" that area up. Believe it or not! All of that rusty junk was all moved around and you could actually walk around thru there without hurting yourself. I never liked that hide! Anyway, until I find out for sure what it going on, I won't replace the cache and when we do it will be at new coordinates.
Robert, Mike felt bad...after you left he wished he had offered to update your GSAK. Now, you all will just have to come back. Soon, I hope. Call first and let us know when you are coming and we will have lunch or dinner ready. A beverage or two, also. :)

Hopefully we will be back sometime soon. Can't wait for the meal and beverage!!! Our cache Council Bluffs was muggled and disappeared completely. Really ticks me off when them @^&$# kids can't leave things alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Fortunately, there were no TB's in it. I'm just going to let it sit awhile, letting them think they won, then put it back. Tell Mike that's ok, like I said, gives us a reason to come back!! :D

I had a cache in a park by Glendo called Baby Huey and had the same thing happen to me. I let it sit for a year and replaced it and the dang thing lasted about a week before it was gone. I really hate it when mine go missing too.
