Because I Can in Casper

Tried this one again today and think I am gonna place it in the unavailable list on GSAK so taht it will not get sent to the unit anymore. I had the boys helping me and it just wasn't fun to move huge rocks looking for a small can under them.

I hate that frustrating feeling! I haven't tried for that cache yet- based on the logs I have read I am going to need a big chunk of time set aside to go look.

Bad cache

Postby Rubiconlwb on Thu Aug 23, 2007 11:35 am

I have to tell you that it took us 5 attempts plus lots of hints and help from others who had found it before we finally located it. This cache frustrated us more than any other we have encountered. One of the major problems is the owner refuses to give any hints or help of any kind for the cache so you are on your own. I personally believe the whole idea of a cache hidden in an area like this is a bad idea. To me, caches should be hidden well enough so everybody walking by does not see them yet easy enough that those looking can find them. I hated this cache yet I was so obsessed with it, I could not let it go which bothered me to no end. Thank God we finally located it so we could move along. I swear some cache owners believe that if they hide them so well very few people can find them that they win. To me it is not a contest but a game which should be fun. When a cache ceases to be fun any longer, it defeats the purpose entirely.
Anything can be fixed using Duct tape or WD40...
If it moves & it shouldn't, use the Duct tape
If it doesn't move and it should, use the the WD40

Some people say I suffer from ADD but I.... oh look, a bunny!

Yah, and then after a few times I just quit going there. ALso must confess to thinking that birds of a feather do flock togethers so I will pass on some caches if I have had problems with caches hidden by the same person. There is a person in Fargo ND that I will just automatically send to the unavailable file when I see that name. I like a good challenge and a good search and do like to get out and go to find them (but will do a light post micro just to boost my numbers a little bit) but when I know from the start that it is gonna be a total accident if I find the cache I will generally not bother. It really turns my geo-herd off too when they hunt high and low for awhile and we leave frustrated and a big reason I am caching in the first place is to get the boys out and about and to use caching as sort of a problem solving exercise to get them thinking. My 8 and 10 year olds will go into an area and say "I am gonna put on my geocache hat, where would I hide a cache here?". When we hit a rock pile they stay buckled up and tell me to jump back in when I get frustrated and we will go hunt for more caches.

This is a cache we stopped at for a few minutes last fall while in the area. What we posted in a log for this one and others like it was that we don't believe the city fathers would appreciate anyone digging around and moving all of the rocks etc in the area.
We consider it bad cache etiquite and don't play their game.

Cache on.
