Mar 4, 2007:     Wow! More than one page on wyogeo.net! I have been very busy but I promised I would work on trying to get a couple pages online and here is the beginning. For those who are very new and don't know, there is also a forum that seems to be very popular at least for right now. You can get there by clicking the large 'Forum' button on the home page or the smaller button in the table of contents for any page (on the left). You can also get there by clicking the link at the bottom of any page. There is a guestbook for you to leave your comments and a counter on the home page so we can see how many visitors the site is attracting. Enjoy! More later...
Mar 5, 2007:     Tonight I got the 'Contact' page up and running except I could not get all the profiles on because geocaching.com was down. If you would prefer not having your information shown or any part of it, let me know and I will remove it. If you would like your mailing address added, send that info to me and I will add it. The contacts page is designed to be a resource so we can get in contact with one another more easily and learn something about the participants. More later...
Mar 7, 2007:     Tonight, I got the 'Gallery' page created since Michelle & Michael Estes sent photos to get us started. Thanks mmgestes! Maybe this will get others doing the same. I decided I'd put a picture of my lovely bride and my ugly mug on as well. I also added a photo of Wheaties (her geocaching name), our grand-daughter who goes with us sometimes. She thinks all geocaches should involve a hike or it's not a good one!
Mar 8, 2007:     Tonight, I added a poll page where you can go and vote on your favorite or submit your own state geocaching organization name. This is where you will find the results so far as well. After a couple weeks, we will see what the winner is but please keep in mind that the domain name is wyogeo.net and that will not change. Perhaps we want to have something that is compatible with the domain name. This is just an exercise to see what the participants in this site think, nothing will be decided for sure until this organization actually gets formed, if it does.
Mar 18, 2007:     Tonight, I added three new photos to the 'Gallery' page. Bumpgas, Trailcachers & Team Robertson submitted photos and they are most interesting! Thanks for the pictures and for the rest of you, get off your duffs and get a photo sent so I can get it online! If I can put my ugly mug on here, you can certainly grace us with your beauty.
Mar 25, 2007:     Last night, I added a chat room to the website. It is quite simple to enter chat. Click the button for chat on the home page, enter a username and then click 'Connect'. You are in, as long as you have your Java up-to-date. For right now, I am setting unofficial times for the chat as Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights beginning at 7:00 p.m. The chat room is actually available all the time so if you want to set up a time with a friend or friends, that is fine. Go for it. I'm hopefully we can get some lively discussion there. I got the room online last night about 10:45 p.m., sent an e-mail out to all registered members and within just a few minutes, there were 4 of us chatting away. Thanks to mmgestes, MichaeljWyo and Trail cachers for coming aboard. It was great fun.
Apr 21, 2007:     Today, I have been working on a new feature of the website. I thought it would be nice to have somebody to call if you are in need of assistance when out of town. I call it the Phone-A-Friend page and what is found there are the phone numbers of other geocachers who are willing to give a helping hand to fellow geocachers. This might be a hint for a cache or some information about motels or campgrounds or restaurants, about anything really. Since this is information we may not want plastered on the internet, the page is passwork protected. I will send the login information to everybody once the page is up and running properly. If you want to participate, go to the page and submit your information using the form provided. I'm hoping we can get people from most of the major cities/towns in Wyoming so a person has a lifeline when out of town.
May 11, 2007:     I have been a little lax about putting these updates online. Lots of stuff has happened since I last posted. There was a CITO event in Green River that was great fun and ended up being well attended even though the organizers were worried. Mudblood Squad had an event in Torrington a couple weeks ago that was super! They had a geocaching challenge associated with their event and a good time was had by all. Upcoming are the Thermopolis Event on May 19, 2007 , the SWAG Summer Kickoff Event on May 26, 2007, the 2nd Annual Rawlins Brownbag Event on June 9, 2007 and the GM & E Event in Basin on July 28, 2007. As for the website, the Phone-A-Friend page is up and we have had several people post their information but we can always use more so if you are inclined, please send your info. If you need the password, just send and e-mail and I will get it out to you. Today, I added several pictures to the website so go to the gallery page and look around for the new photos (Mudblood Event, CITO Event).I hope you enjoy the improvements and additions to the site!
October 28, 2007:     Talk about being lax, it has been since May since I added an update to this page. Needless to say, lots of things have happened in that time, much of it related to the group but things have changed on the website as well. It has become official that the name of our group will be Wyoming Association Of Geocachers or WAG for short. I am therefore trying to change all references to WyoGeoNet to WAG. Please bear with me as this is a tremendous amount of work and will take some time to accomplish. I am very proud of the participation in the forums so please go there and join in the fun if you have not done so already.
April 3, 2010     Today, I got all the current events in Wyoming updated. There are now 5 events scheduled with at least one more (the state event) in the works which will be published soon.
July 4, 2010     Yesterday, I added a feature where the pop-up has a different message for each day of the month. I'm hoping this will be more informative to those visiting the website.
